Every Day Is a Door

today I finally realised
through all the voices around me
and
as if for the first time
I imagined rising above
this chaos of humanity
seeing in the world
the lost, the hurting, the suffering
the confusion
as well as
the healthy, the joy
kindness and hugs.
I see hopefulness,
and turn towards
the ever present streets and highways
the houses and the homeless
and realise every day is a door to walk through
every door an invitation to share the beauty of His love.

The Velvet Petal

The soft velvet of a tulip petal
touching my cheek
a pearl of sunlight on my eyelids
your gentle embracing
holding comforting
you give me a dew drop
in the palm of my hand
it sparkles
and melts into my soul
and in our deep love
we are one
