In October, a team from the Artisan Baking team from Compassionate Loaf and Springwater (Peppard Congregational Church) will be travelling to Romania in partnership with BIG LOVE to physically, spiritually and economically support the marginalised Roma community in the east of the country.
Our goal, in partnership with local people, is to help facilitate an Artisan Bread baking workshop that will help empower community members by teaching them valuable baking skills and techniques that will work alongside local bread making skills. The aim is to assist a local initiative that seeks to development of a local bakery that will provide much-needed income for families and the local charity. The bakery will also play a significant role, alongside a farm, in creating sustainable economic opportunities. The team will also have the opportunity to learn local bread making skills and holistically support various children and families in the specific children’s centres the charity works amongst.
To help facilitate our team of seven, (Clare, Judy, Sue, Grace, Karen, Linsey and Kevin) Springwater (PCC) has developed this crowdfunding page, through which we aim to raise a minimum of £3500 for the team.
Our hope is that we can raise financial support for the trip, develop finances to help the charity in Romania develop a sustainable bakery project, plus contribute to the work with young children and local families. Any financial contribution would be key in helping us achieve these goals.
With your support, we aim to share skills that will practically and spiritually help equip the bakery trainees with the knowledge and resources that could help them thrive, plus help the UK team gain skills that will expand their knowledge and help when they are back in the UK.
